USCIS Can Now Lock SSNs That Appear to Be Misused in E-Verify
USCIS notice that E-Verify can now lock Social Security numbers (SSN) that appear to have been used fraudulently, like a credit card company can lock a credit card that appears to have been stolen. If an employee attempts to use a locked SSN, a Tentative Nonconfirmation will be generated.
