AG Order on Federal Control of Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department

AG Bondi issued an order (6370-2025) regarding federal control of Washington, D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The order directs DEA Administrator Terrence E. Cole to serve as emergency police commissioner for the duration of the President’s declared emergency. It also suspends a number of MPD policies regarding sharing immigration information with federal agencies and arresting people for immigration violations alone.
