AILA and Partners Submit Amicus Brief in Matter of A-M-R-C-
AILA and partners submitted an amicus brief in Matter of A-M-R-C-, arguing that the Attorney General has no statutory or regulatory authority to “review” the case, which would require reopening A-M-R-C-‘s removal proceedings; that due process bars the Attorney General from reopening a case more than a decade after it has become final; and that reopening this case would set a dangerous precedent that would transform asylees into bargaining chips, compromise the United States’ human rights obligations, and harm national interests.
