WASHINGTON, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) welcomes Jesse Bless as AILA's first Director of Federal Litigation. In this position, he will develop, file, and oversee federal litigation and other legal strategies for AILA.

AILA Executive Director Benjamin Johnson said, "AILA is very excited that Jesse Bless, an extremely talented litigator and immigration attorney, will be leading AILA's federal litigation work to challenge immigration policies and procedures that violate the law and adversely impact students, families, entrepreneurs, and businesses, and that can have devastating economic impacts."

Mr. Bless most recently worked as Senior Litigation Counsel at Jeff Goldman Immigration in Boston where he had responsibility for the federal litigation of business immigration cases. His experience prior to private practice includes more than a decade with the Department of Justice. He began his career as a member of the Attorney General's Honors Program working at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, worked as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C., and spent the majority of his career at the Office of Immigration Litigation where he represented the U.S. Attorney General in all civil immigration litigation before the federal district courts and circuit courts of appeals.

Jesse earned a J.D. in 2004 from Wake Forest School of Law and received a Bachelor's in Political Science from Boston College in 2001.
