Practice Alert: Premium Processing Units Issuing Electronic Notices for Previously Approved Cases

1/10/18 AILA Doc. No. 18010909. Business Immigration

UPDATE:

On 1/10/18, SCOPS confirmed that there was an internal system error that led to new approval notices being sent out for previously approved premium processing cases. SCOPS has indicated that the issue has been resolved by the USCIS Office of Information Technology. If AILA members continue to receive approval notices that appear to be in error, please report them to AILA's SCOPS Liaison Committee.

AILA has received reports from members that the Premium Processing Units (PPU) for multiple USCIS service centers have been issuing electronic notices for cases which have been previously approved. Some members are reporting receiving PPU emails for cases that were approved more than 10 years ago. AILA has reached out to USCIS Service Center Operations (SCOPS) to alert them of these electronic notifications. SCOPS is looking into the matter and AILA will provide additional information as soon as it is available.
