BOSTON AREA IMMIGRANTS CAN RECEIVE FREE LEGAL CONSULTATIONS FROM IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS

BOSTON, MA — This Saturday, June 21, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), in partnership with MIRA Coalition, Greater Boston Citizenship Initiative, and Mintz, Levin, Cohen, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will offer free immigration law services. Dozens of immigration attorneys will be available to answer questions and assess each participant's situation as it relates to immigration and will also make direct positive contributions to aspiring new citizens by helping to remove cost, access, language, and knowledge barriers.

The event, the fourth Pro Bono Clinic held in conjunction with AILA's Annual Conference, will take place at the Boston Public Library. Cases will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration for citizenship assistance is highly encouraged (www.miracoalition.org). At last year's event in San Francisco, CA, AILA members helped more than 150 immigrants and they hope to help many more at this year's event which is held during AILA's 58th Annual Conference this week at the Westin and Marriott Copley Square hotels.

"Boston is an historic city where immigrants have made and continue to make vital contributions to the local economy and communities. We're thrilled to be holding our fourth annual pro bono clinic at the beautiful Boston Public Library where AILA members can offer their knowledge and expertise to help families and individuals in the area," said AILA Executive Director Crystal Williams.

Two of the lead organizers of the event are New England Chapter members Hema Sarang-Sieminski and Emily Leung. Ms. Leung noted, "AILA's New England Chapter has been honored to work on this event with our wonderful partners. As we welcome the Annual Conference to Boston, it is only fitting that we give back to our city and the immigrants who make it their home."

All interested individuals are encouraged to attend this event, including members of the press.
