BOSTON WELCOMES IMMIGRATION LAWYERS JUNE 18-21, 2014

DHS Deputy Secretary Mayorkas to give keynote address

BOSTON, MA — The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is hosting its 58th Annual Conference beginning today in Boston, MA. The conference is expecting over 3,000 attorneys from around the world to flock to the Marriott Copley Place, Westin Copley Place, and Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

On Thursday, June 19, conference attendees will hear from the featured keynote speaker, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Throughout the conference, running June 18-21, 2014, AILA Communications staff will facilitate interviews with experts on every facet of immigration law for interested media, on topics ranging from the possibility of legislative action, enforcement and border security, legalization, asylum and refugee concerns, and business immigration.

Immigration issues have surfaced again and again in the news over the past few months and this conference offers media the chance to participate in the premier immigration law conference of the year. Featuring more than 125 workshops, seminars and presentations from the best legal minds and the most experienced practitioners, one of the conference highlights will be the Friday night Boston premiere of Jose Antonio Vargas' new film DOCUMENTED.

For a detailed program of sessions, visit the AILA website at www.aila.org/ac. Not all sessions will be open to the press, and registration is required. Credentialed members of the press who are interested in covering the conference should contact George Tzamaras or Belle Woods to receive attendance privileges. There will be a dedicated press room for media attending the conference.
