Transition to U.S. Immigration Law Begins in the CNMI

On 11/28/09, the immigration laws of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) were replaced by the INA and other U.S. immigration laws. Although U.S. immigration law applies to the CNMI beginning 11/28/09, there will be a transition period with temporary measures ending 12/31/14.
