CBP’s Deployment of Tire Deflation Device Results in Two Deaths
On June 2, 2020, CBP personnel, in pursuit of a vehicle north of Douglas, AZ, occupied by one U.S. citizen and four undocumented immigrants, deployed a tire deflation device that resulted in the vehicle losing control and rolling over. The rollover resulted in two deaths – one occupant died on the scene, and the driver, who was determined to be a U.S. citizen, later died at a local hospital.
