Information Notice
In an effort to meet the pending deadline for the Temporary Protected Status(TPS) cases, and to prevent extended delays, some qualified individuals under the Mitch and El Salvador programs were issued 60-day Interim EAD Cards.
This was done because their cases required further review and/or additional information. Upon completion of the case review, a decision notice will be sent. Be advised that if an applicant received an Interim card in the mail, the current I-765 on file is considered pending until a final decision of approval or denial is rendered.
Additionally, if you receive an interim EAD card and do not receive a final decision on your case within 15 days of expiration of that interim EAD, you can submit a fax inquiry to check the status of your pending application to the following fax number: 949/389-3484.
During the time a final decision is pending, an applicant may go to their local Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service (formerly INS) District Office for an additional Interim Card, if a decision notice is not received by the expiration date on the 60-Day Interim Card.
