DHS Final Rule on Optional Alternatives to Physical Document Examination for Form I-9
DHS final rule amending the regulations to create a framework under which the DHS Secretary may, as an optional alternative to the in-person physical document examination method that employers have followed as part of the Form I-9 process, authorize alternative document examination procedures. In a separate Federal Register document, DHS is announcing the Secretary’s authorization of an alternative document examination procedure and the conditions for participation. (88 FR 47990, 7/25/23)
