DHS to Expand Length of Stay under BCC
In a teleconference today with non-governmental agencies (NGOs), BTS Undersecretary Asa Hutchinson announced that the Department of Homeland Security will be publishing a notice, probably on Thursday, August 12, 2004, allowing holders of border crossing cards and laser visas to remain in the U.S., within the 25-mile limit (75 miles in Arizona) for 30 days rather than for 72 hours, as currently allowed.
