DHS to Post Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Optional Practical Training Fees

DHS is expected to post a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) in the Federal Register on 10/8/26 to impose new fees for each F-1 student to engage in Optional Practical Training (OPT). The fees would be $70,000 for initial OPT and $30,000 for any subsequent OPT. An advance copy of the NPRM is available.
