DHS to Terminate Harvard’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program Certification

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem ordered DHS to terminate the Harvard University’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification. Termination would mean that Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students, and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status. DHS alleges that Harvard has collaborated with the Chinese Communist Party and fostered violence, antisemitism, and pro-terrorist conduct from students on its campus.

Note: On 5/23/25, U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump Administration from revoking Harvard University’s SEVP certification.
