On 8/25/21, the Secretary of State delegated to the Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs the authority under section 2(a)(vii) of Presidential Proclamation 10043, Suspension of Entry as Nonimmigrants of Certain Students and Researchers From the People’s Republic of China, to determine that an applicant’s entry into the United States would be in the national interest.
