DOS Final Rule on the Visa Bond Program
DOS final rule making permanent the visa bond program established in the 8/11/25 temporary final rule. Applicants for B-1/B-2 visas from certain countries may be required to submit a bond up to $20,000 as a condition of visa issuance, as determined by the consular officers. The rule is effective 8/3/26. (91 FR 48757, 8/3/26)
