EOIR Emergency Stay Telephone System Operating Despite Weather Related Closures

Despite the severe weather in the Washington, DC, area, the BIA continues to staff the Emergency Stay telephone system (703) 605-5236. AILA-EOIR liaison has also asked EOIR to implement and review policies for handling filings or submissions which are delayed for weather-related reasons, including USPS and courier service delays, and the inability of attorneys and parties to prepare and submit appeals, motions, and other documents and pleadings due to the severe weather.
