USCIS Notice Extending South Sudan Designation for Temporary Protected Status

USCIS notice extending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for South Sudan for six months, from 5/4/25 to 11/3/25. The notice also automatically extends for six months the validity of certain Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) that were previously issued under the TPS designation of South Sudan with a Category Code of A12 or C19 and a “Card Expires” date of 5/3/25 or 11/3/23. The notice explains how TPS beneficiaries and their employers may determine if an EAD is automatically extended and how this affects the Form I–9, Employment Eligibility Verification, E-Verify, and USCIS Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) processes.
