Free Legal Consultations from Immigration Attorneys During AILA’s Annual Conference in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV - This Saturday, June 25, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), in partnership with AILA's Nevada Chapter and the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN), will offer free immigration law consultations. Dozens of immigration attorneys will be available to answer questions and assist immigrants with the naturalization process.

The event, the sixth Pro Bono Clinic held in conjunction with AILA's Annual Conference, will take place at the Linq Hotel and Casino, supported by Caesars Entertainment's Diversity & Inclusion Department. At last year's event in Washington, DC, about 50 AILA members from 15 chapters helped more than 80 immigrants, and AILA volunteers hope to help many more at this year's event.

"Las Vegas is a vibrant, growing city where immigrants have built their lives and have had huge positive impacts on the community, the economy, and society as a whole. AILA members are very proud to help those seeking assistance with the naturalization process and to help them to take one step closer to becoming a United States citizen," said AILA Executive Director Benjamin Johnson.

One of the lead organizers of the event, AILA Nevada Chapter Treasurer Elizabeth E. Estrada, noted, "Immigration law is complex, but for legal residents who have satisfied the eligibility requirements, the paperwork shouldn't be a barrier. With this pro bono clinic, immigrants in the community will have the opportunity to get free help on the way to fulfilling the American Dream."

At various times during the clinic volunteer interpreters in Spanish, French, Chinese (Traditional/Mandarin), Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Russian, Tagalog, German, Farsi, Azari, Turkish, Armenian, and Italian will be in attendance.
