Bipartisan Farmworker Bill Introduced in the House and Senate
On September 23, the Agricultural Job Opportunity, Benefits, and Security Act of 2003 was introduced in both the House (H.R. 3142) and the Senate (S. 1645). Chief sponsors were Sen. Craig (R-ID), Sen. Kennedy (D-MA), Rep. Cannon (R-UT) and Rep. Berman (D-CA). Provisions include earned adjustment, a streamlined H-2A program and enhanced labor protections.
