H.R. 8319: Continuing Appropriations Act, 2021 and Other Extensions Act
On 9/21/20, the House included the Emergency Stopgap USCIS Stabilization Act (H.R. 8089) in its Continuing Resolution (H.R. 8319). If passed, this would give USCIS access to existing funds that were dedicated to infrastructure improvement to be spent to cover operating expenses and increase revenue by raising premium processing fees and expanding premium processing to other form types in order to address USCIS’s current budget shortfall. The language begins on page 79 of the Continuing Resolution.
