The American Dream and Promise Act (H.R. 6) expired at the end of the 116th Congress and was reintroduced in the 117th Congress.
On March 12, 2019, Representative Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA) introduced H.R. 6 to allow Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients, and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) recipients to apply for permanent legal status. On June 4, 2019, H.R. 6 passed the House of Representatives by a recorded vote of 237-187. AILA endorses this bill.
