H.Res. 774: “Queen-of-the-Hill” Resolution on Dreamers
On March 13, 2018, Representative Jeff Denham (R-CA) introduced H.Res.774 with 17 original Republican cosponsors the resolution would require the U.S. House of Representatives to consider four bills under a "Queen of the Hill" rule to address Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. The Resolution was referred to the House Committee on Rules.
On May 9, 2018, a motion was filed to discharge the Committee on Rules from consideration of H.Res. 774 by five Republican Congressmen Jeff Denham (CA), Carlos Curbelo (FL), Will Hurd (TX), David Valadao (CA) and Mario Diaz-Balart (FL). Twelve additional Republicans signed the petition by the end of the day. The Discharge Petition No. 115-10 (text with signatures) requires 218 signatures to force a debate on the four bills under the "Queen of the Hill" rule.
