Members of Congress Call for Investigation of Tent Courts

Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus; Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Chair of the House Committee on the Judiciary; Rep. Benny Thompson (D-MS), Chair of the House Committee on Homeland Security; Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Chair of the House Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties; Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Chair of the House Judiciary Immigration and Citizenship Subcommittee; and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY), Chair of the House Subcommittee on Border Security, Facilitation, & Operations sent a letter to the DHS Inspector General and DOJ Inspector General calling for an investigation of the use of tent facilities to adjudicate immigration hearings via video teleconference for asylum seekers subject to Remain in Mexico.
