DHS OIG Releases Report on Use of Rapid DNA Tests to Verify Parent-Child Relationships

DHS OIG audited the use of rapid DNA testing programs by CBP officials and ICE HSI officials. The program is used before separating adults and children with claimed parental relationships, and requires results from contractors within 24 hours of receiving DNA samples. No recommendations were made.
