USCIS IFR Codifying H.R. 1 Fees and Requirements Including Penalty for Unpaid Annual Asylum Fee
DHS IFR implementing certain H.R. 1 fees and requirements, effective 5/29/26. The rule states that USCIS will reject asylum applications if the Annual Asylum Fee is not paid within 30 days of notification. It also establishes a minimum $24 filing fee for Form I-102, limits the validity of employment authorization issued under TPS to the shorter of a year or the remainder of the TPS period, and states that USCIS will keep the asylum filing fee for forms rejected as improperly filed.
