USCIS to Post NPRM on Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility

USCIS will post a notice of proposed rulemaking to the Federal Register on 11/19/25 to rescind the 2022 public charge ground of inadmissibility regulations, giving DHS officers "broader discretion" when evaluating applicants' likelihood to become a public charge. Comments on the NPRM are due 30 days after publication. Comments on the associated information collection are due 60 days after publication. An advance copy is available.
