DOS Amends October 1997 Visa Bulletin for Religious Workers
SR Religious Workers Immigrant Visa Category Extended; Visa Bulletin for October Amended Accordingly
Public Law 105-54, approved October 6, 1997, amends Section 101(a)(27)(c)(II) of the Immigration and Nationality Act to continue the SR visa category for Certain Religious Workers for three more years, i.e., through September 30, 2000.
Effective IMMEDIATELY, the October Visa Bulletin has been adjusted to reflect this amendment to the law. (The October Visa Bulletin as originally released included no visa availability information with respect to the SR Certain Religious Workers category.)
The Department of State has set an “SR” visa availability out-off date for
OCTOBER as follows:
All Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed
India Mexico Philippines Employment-Based
