Visa Bulletin for January 2020
DOS posted the January 2020 visa bulletin. In addition to final action dates and dates for filing applications, it includes notes on the diversity immigrant category, scheduled expiration of the SR religious worker and the I5 and R5 visa categories, as well as visa availability in the coming months.
Note: USCIS has clarified that “if a particular immigrant visa category is ‘current’ on the Final Action Dates chart or the cutoff date on the Final Action Dates chart is later than the date on the Dates for Filing chart, applicants in that immigrant visa category may file using the Final Action Dates chart during that month.” Therefore, for January 2020, all F2A, EB-3 ROW, and EB-3 Other Workers ROW applicants may file using the Final Action Dates chart for January 2020. Applicants in all other family- and employment-based preference categories must use the Dates for Filing charts.
