New Edition of Kurzban’s Immigration Law Sourcebook Released by AILA

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is proud to release the 20th edition of Kurzban’s Immigration Law Sourcebook. Unique among immigration law texts, Kurzban’s Sourcebook is the must-have resource for immigration attorneys, judges, government officials, and law professors. Filled with expert guidance, the book helps readers navigate the labyrinthine U.S. immigration laws, including recent Supreme Court rulings and their impact.
“Ira Kurzban has again built out a sourcebook that will arm attorneys with the critical tools they need to represent their clients in almost every area of immigration law,” said Ben Johnson, AILA Executive Director. The new edition addresses the changes to removal policies and humanitarian programs as well as visa programs and benefits adjudications that have occurred since the publication of the last edition, including:

- More than 1,000 new cases, including over 100 precedential BIA decisions
- Updated analysis of removal policies, detention, bond, and habeas litigation
- Expanded coverage of asylum, withholding, CAT, and protection claims
- Major updates to USCIS policy guidance, DOS policies, and EOIR regulations
- New and revised analysis of employment based visas, EB 5 under the RIA, NIWs, and employer compliance
- Developments affecting adjustment of status, TPS, parole programs, expedited removal, and humanitarian relief

About the author:
Ira J. Kurzban has been a renowned and highly respected member of the legal community for more than four decades. During his brilliant career as an immigration law specialist, Mr. Kurzban has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and successfully litigated many significant federal cases concerning the rights of noncitizens. He has received numerous prestigious awards and honors for his tireless work on behalf of immigrants, including AILA’s Jack Wasserman Award for excellence in federal litigation and the Edith Lowenstein Memorial Award for excellence in the advancement of immigration law, the University of Miami’s Lawyers of America Award for his work on behalf of human rights in this hemisphere, and the 2020 Leonard J. Theberge Award for Private International Law from the American Bar Association for his work in immigration and international law.
Today, Mr. Kurzban teaches immigration and nationality law at the University of Miami School of Law. He is a founder of the law firm of Kurzban, Kurzban, Tetzeli & Pratt, P.A., of Miami. Mr. Kurzban received his J.D. and M.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
