A 3/25/09 memo from Joseph Langlois, Chief, USCIS Asylum Division, provides notification and guidance to USCIS Asylum Offices regarding jurisdiction over asylum applications filed by unaccompanied alien children.

On 3/25/09 USCIS also released an Update and Q&As announcing that the agency is now responsible for initial adjudication of applications for asylum from Unaccompanied Alien Children.
