WASHINGTON, DC - The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) will recognize Dilruba Hashim, of Washington, D.C., and Tracie L. Klinke, of Marietta, Georgia, with the 2018 Advocacy Award for outstanding efforts in support of AILA’s advocacy agenda. They will accept their awards this week during AILA’s Annual Conference in San Francisco.

The first awardee, Dilruba Hashim, focuses her practice on investment and employment-based immigration law, representing and advising clients from a variety of industries, including health care, investment, information technology, manufacturing, engineering, educational institutions, and non-profit. She also represents families reunifying through immigration.

Ms. Hashim currently serves as Chair of the AILA DC Chapter Advocacy and National Day of Action Committee, inspiring fellow AILA members with her passion for advocacy and awareness of its crucial role in bringing about necessary changes to our immigration system.

The second awardee, Tracie L. Klinke, is the founder of Klinke Immigration, LLC, a boutique firm in Marietta, Georgia, that focuses on family and humanitarian immigration. She has a passion for working with immigrant victims of violence and enjoys digging into complicated cases.

Ms. Klinke has served on a number of AILA national committees and been a member of the AILA Georgia-Alabama Chapter Executive Committee since 2013, culminating in 2017-18 as Chapter Chair. Through years of liaison work, she has created enduring relationships with government agencies and officials. As Chapter Chair, Ms. Klinke also worked with a broad coalition of community partners to fight against Georgia's SB 452, an anti-immigrant bill that died on the last day of the legislative session, following weeks of advocacy work.

The American Immigration Lawyers Association is the national association of immigration lawyers established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members.
