DOS Delegation of Authority on National Interest Exceptions to Restrictions on Entry for Nationals of Certain Countries

On 1/28/26, DOS Secretary delegated to the Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs authority to determine that travel by a foreign national would serve a United States national interest in exception to Presidential Proclamations 10998 and 10949, which restrict entry to the U.S. for nationals of 39 countries and people with Palestinian Authority-issued travel documents.
