ORR NPRM to Authorize Examination of UACs for “Gang-Related” Markings and Add New Assessment Requirements for Sponsors
ORR notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to add new vetting requirements for unaccompanied children (UACs) and their potential sponsors. It would authorize ORR to examine UACs for “gang-related” tattoos and other marks. For potential sponsors, it would require them to submit proof of income, update background check requirements, and create a list acceptable of documents for proof of their identity. Comments are due 8/25/26. (91 FR 38582, 6/26/26)
