Rep. Shuler Reintroduced SAVE Act (H.R. 3308)
On 7/23/09, Rep. Shuler (D-NC) reintroduced the >Secure America Through Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act of 2009 (H.R. 3308). The "SAVE Act" calls for immigration reform through enhanced border security, stricter enforcement of existing immigration laws, and widespread use of an employer verification program.
A companion bill (S. 1505) was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Pryor (D-AR) on 7/23/09.
