President Obama Outlines Vision for 21st Century Immigration Reform (Updated 5/11/11)

On May 10, 2011, in addition to President Obama delivering a speech about the need for immigration reform (AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 11051061), the White House released the Blueprint for Building a 21st Century Immigration System (AILA InfoNet Doc. No. 11051175). The Blueprint provides a summary of the efforts that the Obama Administration has undertaken to date to secure the borders, enforce existing laws, and improve the legal immigration system, and discusses the economic benefits of immigration reform. The Blueprint also provides an outline of President Obama’s vision of a 21st century immigration policy.
