DOL Requests Comments on Permanent Labor Certification Program

DOS Final Rule on Immigrant Religious Workers
DOS final rule amending regulations and implementing the provision that extended the deadline for religious workers who have two years of membership and experience in a religious occupation or vocation. This rule extends the original deadline of 10/1/94 to 9/30/97. (60 FR 35838, 7/12/95)
Special Filing Instructions for ABC Class Members
INS notice with special instructions on the eligibility requirements for class members eligible for benefits and requirements to file for asylum under the settlement reached in American Baptist Churches v. Thornburgh, (N.D. Cal. 1991). (60 FR 35424, 7/7/95)
Final Rule Changing the Tribunal Name to Immigration Court
The final rule is a nomenclature change, changing the name of the administrative tribunal which initially hears deportation and exclusion proceedings from "Office of the Immigration Judge" to "Immigration Court." Effective 6/30/95. (60 FR 34089, 6/30/95)

DOJ Final Rule on Citizenship Requirement for Employment

INS Interim Rule on Waiver of Two-Year Home Country Physical Presence for Foreign Medical Graduates
INS interim rule to allow certain foreign medical graduates who entered the U.S. in J-1 status, or who acquired J-1 status after arrival, to obtain a waiver of the 2-year home country residence and physical presence requirement under 212(e)(iii) of the INA. (60 FR 26676, 5/18/95)
EOIR Rule on Stipulated Requests for Deportation or Exclusion Orders
This final rule amends 8 CFR 3.25 by codifying an Immigration Judge's discretion to enter an order of deportation or exclusion without a hearing if satisfied that the alien voluntarily entered into a plea-negotiated or otherwise stipulated request. Effective 6/16/95. (60 FR 26351, 5/17/95)
EOIR Proposes Procedural Change in BIA Filing
DOJ proposed rule establishing a uniform central system for filing and tracking appeals before the Board and would supersede previous proposed rulemaking in May and June of 1994. Comments due by 6/8/95. (60 FR 24573, 5/9/95)
INS Clarifies All Service Center Names
INS notice that, as of 10/1/94, INS service centers will be identified by state location but that this naming does not affect their multi-state jurisdiction. Notice also implements a trial program for filing of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions at the TSC. (60 FR 22408, 5/5/95)
INS Expands Direct Mail for EAD Applications
